Travel Retail Careers FAQs

Do I need previous beauty experience to work with Etreac?
No previous beauty industry experience is required. Etreac welcomes candidates who are passionate about sales and luxury; prior experience in beauty, retail or luxury sales is an advantage but not essential.

What is the difference between a Beauty Advisor and a Brand Ambassador?
At Etreac, the terms are often used interchangeably for the same Travel Retail roles – both represent a brand directly to customers, offering advice, product knowledge, and a personalised purchasing experience.

Which languages are useful for working in Travel Retail?
English plus the local language of your market, for example French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian, are most useful. Additional languages are a strong advantage given the international nature of Travel Retail.

Is Travel Retail work with Etreac full-time or part-time?
Both. Depending on the market and the assignment, Etreac offers full-time contracts as well as flexible, part-time arrangements – including flexi-job style roles in some countries – to suit different availability and career stages.

Can I progress from a temporary role to a permanent position with Etreac?
Yes. Many Travel Retail team members start on a fixed-term or recurring basis and, following a performance evaluation, progress to a longer-term or permanent position – either with Etreac or directly with one of our partner brands.

Does Etreac provide training?
Yes. Etreac provides training through both the agency and partner brands, covering product knowledge and sales technique, with progression opportunities including permanent positions with partner brands.

What benefits does Etreac offer its Travel Retail teams?
Benefits vary by country, in line with local employment standards and practice. Depending on your market, this can include meal vouchers, transport and parking reimbursement, and other benefits, alongside structured training and genuine progression opportunities.
